California occupies one of the world’s most famous scenic road trips, The Highway 1 road trip that passes through Big Sur on California’s Central Coast. Glass Beach
Highway 1 from San Francisco to Fort Bragg
This Road trip starts in Marin City, a short distance after the Golden State Bridge. The start of the drive is very dramatic with loads of cliffs and winding. This is then followed by panoramic beaches like Muir Beach and Stinson Beach, apart of The Point Reyes National Seashore. Then head inland on Highway 1 to Fort Bragg and you can visit MacKerricher State Park to see incredible marine life like seals and migrating whales (from November through April). Also, you can visit the famous Glass Beach where the sand looks as if it has mixed jewels and crystals in it.

Lake Tahoe to Lone Pine
The Lake Tahoe to Lone Pine road trip travels on Highway 395 is filled with spectacular views from fields of volcanic rock to erie limestone tufa towers. This journey starts at South Lake Tahoe, where Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America, is surrounded by majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Next, you go south toward Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve to witness the bizarre towers in the water. Continue to Mammoth Lakes where you will see the natural beauty of the landscape, and the endless opportunities for adventure. From here keep going south to Bishop and then Lone Pine with beautiful mountains, lakes and hiking trails.

The Shasta Cascade region reveals a lot of California’s best-kept secrets, with glistening lakes and world-class rivers. This, approximately, hour drive starts in Redding and go up 1-5 to Shasta Lake. This is a breathtaking sight of California’s largest reservoir, with a lively outdoor site for fishing and watersports. Next, drive past Mount Shasta with the fifth-highest peak in the state. Then comes the astonishing 129-foot Burney Falls. After this, you will arrive at the panoramic Lake Almanor.
San Diego Gaslamp Quarter
Beach-to-Desert Drive from San Diego
Start from the beaches of La Jolla or Del Mar and go to highway 67. This then takes you through rural Ramona, with farm stands now and then. Next, head to Highway 78 and into the Cuyamaca Mountains with such amazing views of the beautiful Californian countryside. Then head down the road’s and into the desert to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Sierra National Forest

You can Explore nearly 100 miles of country roads through the Sierra National Forest. This specific route starts on Forest Road 81 near the town of North Fork. Follow the route for 90 miles where you can find elegant stops along the way like Jesse Ross Cabin, a log cabin built in the 1860’s that shows the design of the pioneers’ technology and a 2,200-year-old Bull Buck Tree (one of the world’s oldest sequoia trees). This trip also includes plenty of peaks, granite domes and conifer forest.

Fresno Blossom and Fruit Trails
Typically, blossoming fruit happens mid-February to mid-March and the loop east of Fresno becomes a magical landscape filled with colors. These trees consist of nut trees like almonds, peaches, plums, and cherries. This road trip starts in Fresno, east of Highway 99, and follow the route through towns of Orange Cove, Sanger, Reedley, Kinsburg, and Fowler.
Rim of the World Scenic Byway
This 100-mile-long journey on State Highway 18 goes around the cliffs of the San Bernardino Mountains, with incredible views that have been named “The Rim of the World.” Some must-stops include Lake Arrowhead, a stunningly beautiful, cosy and quaint mountain resort paradise, and the Trail at Heaps Peak Arboretum. If you keep driving to the town of Running Springs and take the 5-mile drive up to Keller Peak Fire Lookout, which posses’ views of lakes, mountains and even the Pacific Ocean. Here you can find many outdoor activities to take part in.
